#TheKashmirFiles : An Assault Rifle With A Sniper's Precision

There are some movies that take up an issue and hit the target with the precision of a sniper rifle. Now imagine an assault rifle that doesn’t spray bullets all over but hits multiple targets with the same brutal precision of a sniper rifle in one massive round of heavy duty firing.

That my friends, is #TheKashmirFiles in one sentence and let me now go on to describe what it has done to different sections of society

1)The Kashmiri Hindus : For 3 decades, most of the world believed that the Hindus of Kashmir, a.k.a Kashmiri Pandits left their homeland in what was painted as an exodus. Bits & pieces of the truth of Kashmir appeared in different articles, news etc., but there was nothing with adequate reach, power & resources that could correct the malicious narrative & tell not just the nation, but also the world about the horrific genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. #TheKashmirFiles does this in a dispassionate hard hitting fashion that numbs every neuron in the body by the end of the movie, leaving the viewer shell shocked at what he/she just saw

2)The Pak sponsored terrorists :  Yasin Malik & Bitta Karate were the actual perpetrators of the genocide. However leave alone being tried & punished for their crimes, they actually managed to not only roam freely but the Yasin was projected as a Gandhian & a youth icon by the very ecosystem that whitewashed the acts of terror. Today the movie has exposed these terrorists and even as I am writing this, we have news that an NIA court has framed charges against Yasin Malik & Bitta Karate along with some others who supported them.

2)Politicians : Politicians of India have been the worst enemy of Kashmir & the “real Kashmiris”, i.e. the original inhabitants of the land of Maa Sharada & rishi Kashyapa. Right from adding the wretched Articles 370 & 35A in 1954 till recent times, state & central politics in J&K has been completely communalised & against the interests of the Hindu minority in the valley. The image of a helpless Pushkar Nath Pandit holding the placard of “remove Article 370” narrated the pathetic state of Kashmiri Hindus so poignantly. #TheKashmirFiles has brutally exposed the complicity of the Abdullahs & Muftis with the separatists as well as apathy of the centre towards the Hindus of Kashmir

3)The LeLi cabal : The middlemen between the politicians & the terrorists – the group that goes around calling them “Liberals” has been so badly hit by #TheKashmirFiles that this year was the 1st time in decades that they forgot to give Hindus “save water” sermons on Holi. Their unholy nexus with terrorists, their role in brainwashing the youth in last 3 decades with false portrayal of perpetrators of a genocide as victims of state oppression, erasing Kashmiri Hindus from the history Kashmir by trivializing the genocide of 1990 to an exodus & denigrating India globally has been perfectly depicted in #TheKashmirFiles. This group in my opinion, is worse than the terrorists because they not only whitewashed the terror crimes but also turned the terrorists into Youth icons

4)Bollywood : This is actually a critical component of the LeLi cabal but because of the significant impact it has on masses, it is mentioned separately. Bollywood has been at forefront of the genocide whitewash by its disgusting romanticising of terror & terrorists, portraying them as hapless victims who took to the gun because they/their families were wronged by Indian govts. We have ourselves to blame because we throng to see their lies & spend our money to make them rich. They expected #TheKashmirFiles to flop but the power of the public has brought this powerful lobby to its knees. Snooty so called A-listers who had their tongues tied for the first few days were forced to applaud the success of TKF only because they had their own movies scheduled for release in the coming days.

5)Current Govt : The current Modi led NDA govt did the unthinkable on 5th August 2019 when they abrogated Articles 370 & 35A & integrated J&K with India. With Modi, Shah & Bhagwat of RSS all coming out unequivocally in support of truth, free speech & praising #TheKashmirFiles for its contribution to the same, the movie has received an unprecedented shot in the arm

6) Indians of the 80s & 90s : Most of us who grew up in this period only knew what the Doordarshans & TOIs, & later the NDTVs told us. However by now, thanks to Social Media we all knew how state owned media was manipulated by Congress and family loyalists were given plum positions in Prasar Bharati which controlled DD, AIR etc. #TheKashmirFiles however, has managed to shock even the most well informed Indian, all thanks to the immense power of the medium of cinema to directly attack our senses at a very intrinsic level that no other medium can match.

7)The Indian youth : This group is the future of India & it has grown up studying Leftist narrated history all along. The rural youth is still doing fine but a large section of the urban youth has sadly been infected with LeLi wokeism. The character of Krishna epitomises this youth of India. Despite being a victim, one whose family was brutalised, he was brainwashed to such an extent that he started believing the false narrative of the perpetrators being victims. His brainwashing & subsequent encounter with the shocking reality of his past and the final delivery of his speech has a strong message for the youth who always argue that we should move on and not get stuck in the past. The message is loud and clear and tells the youth in no uncertain terms that “ Yes, we must not get stuck in the past but we cannot ignore it, in fact we must learn from the mistakes made in history so that the past doesn’t repeat in future”.

It would be gross injustice to end this piece without a massive applause to Vivek Agnihotri, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, Abhishek Agarwal & the entire cast & crew of #TheKashmirFiles.

You took not only a monumental effort in researching the truth so you could place it accurately before the world, but you also took a big risk, because there was no guarantee that the movie would succeed at the box office. However it appears that you were ordained for success & this has paved the way for you & many other aspiring filmmakers to make movies on other untold buried stories of India’s past which every Indian has a right to know & seek justice.

You have made #RightToJustice the subject of national discussion and discourse. This, I am sure, will have far reaching effects on Indian politics & cinema in the days to come.
